Reliability and Failure Analysis Engineer – Space Systems (M/F)

Our client is a fast-growing space technology company that designs and manufactures high-performance hardware for the satellite industry. Serving customers worldwide, the company is now scaling up its production capacity, and reliability has become a strategic priority as volumes increase.

The role

As production ramps up, the company needs a technical expert who can get to the bottom of any anomaly detected during testing and turn it into a lasting improvement. You will join the Production Engineering team and act as the go-to person whenever a unit does not perform as expected. Your job is not just to find what went wrong, but to understand why, fix it, and make sure it does not happen again. This role bridges production, engineering, quality and product development, and requires someone who can navigate all four with credibility.

Poste

What you will do

  • Lead investigations on hardware units that show unexpected behavior during testing
  • Build and run diagnostic test campaigns to pinpoint root causes
  • Dig into test data, telemetry and manufacturing records to connect the dots
  • Drive failure reviews and technical investigations from start to finish
  • Define and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Oversee repair, rework and recovery of affected units
  • Spot recurring failure patterns and emerging reliability risks before they become costly
  • Contribute directly to improving production yield
  • Set up and maintain structured investigation and reliability databases

Profil

What we’re looking for

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in aerospace engineering, physics, electronics, mechanics or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience, ideally in the space industry or another demanding high-tech industrial environment
  • A genuine appetite for complex technical problem-solving, and the tenacity to keep digging until you truly understand what happened
  • Comfortable operating with incomplete information, testing assumptions and cross-referencing multiple data sources
  • A rare combination of analytical rigor and hands-on, field-oriented pragmatism
  • A mindset where every failure is treated as a learning opportunity, not a setback

Why this role

You will work on real, flight-bound hardware and have a direct, measurable impact on the reliability of systems operating in orbit. This is a senior, high-visibility position within a company at the forefront of the New Space industry in Europe, where your findings will shape product quality and manufacturing performance for years to come.

Location in France.
